SAIGE ROWE
Born in 1993, Saige Rowe lives and works out of Atlanta, GA, and received her BFA from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design. Rowe was a 2021 Edge award finalist and has recently shown at Hi-Lo Gallery in Atlanta and Selena's Mountain in NY.
why did it take 12 years to awaken this energy???
Answer: Because in my adolescence and up till only recently, my hair and the maintenance of it were a point of ire. Reflecting upon the journey I have been through with it, I am now (finally) at the point that I have a willingness to engage with it visually. In this representation, I have been able to draw a connection between my involved video editing process and the involved processing of my hair. This video is a meditation on my gratitude for that journey and understanding of the translation between my body and my work.
